New critical illness comparison website goes live

A new critical illness (CI) comparison website has been launched by an IFA for clients and advisers.

Alan Lakey, partner of Highclere Financial Services, spent over two years researching medical conditions in order to determine what the likelihood would be of a person developing an illness based on factors such as age and if they were a smoker . He then collated the information to rate the quality of all available CI products on his new website.

Mr Lakey said: "I'm only interested in the quality of the product. When I've rated the companies and their plans I've taken into consideration the likelihood of the procedure turning into a claim and how friendly the wording is. The figures tend to show there are some companies lingering towards the top and others at the bottom. I want insurance companies to look at the information, compare their products with other providers, and improve their plans."
