Canada Life has re-vamped its group critical illness (CI) policy and the new plan is available to all new group CI schemes and for scheme renewals from 1 January 2011.
It now includes partnerships with support service Red Arc and second medical opinion service Best Doctors to offer support for employees and their families, an increased range of conditions covered and a claims helpline to help claimants and scheme members with the process. Also, the insurer has increased its maximum free cover limit to £500,000 and reduced the survival period to 14 days.
Paul Avis, sales and marketing director at Canada Life, said: "We believe that our members will find the counselling and support elements of our improved group critical illness product particularly valuable in what is undoubtedly a stressful time for all concerned as it gives them an unparalleled level of support. We also believe that the additional conditions covered, increase in maximum free cover limit and the reduction in survival period will help to make the cover as comprehensive as possible."
