Bright Grey announces critical illness payout figures

Bright Grey has paid out 93 per cent of claims on its critical illness cover in the last year, the firm has stated.

Just two per cent of claims made were declined for non-disclosure and the average pay-out was almost £80,000. Roger Edwards, proposition director at Bright Grey, said: "It's very pleasing to see such a high claims paid figure, which helps generate a massive confidence in Bright Grey with advisers and their clients."

When taking out a policy with Bright Grey, customers are also offered help from Red Arc nurses at the time of their payout, with many of the 97 per cent who have choosen to receive the service stating that it was as useful to them as getting the cash .

At the beginning of the year, the insurance firm announced that around £2 billion would be wasted on purchases in the January sales that consumers later decided that they did not want.
