Aegon has unveiled its tele-claims service for critical illness and terminal illness claims, which removes the need for customers to fill in excessive numbers of forms when they are seriously ill.
Following a successful pilot at the end of last year, the service has been launched nationwide. The results of the pilot revealed that the majority of claimants preferred to use the tele-claims method rather than the traditional route of completing forms when making a claim .
Matt Rann, head of underwriting and claims at Aegon, said: "Aegon's tele-claims service can help make the whole process of making a claim easier for our customers, reducing the stress of completing paper-based forms at what is no doubt a difficult time for the customer making the claim."
Further, Aegon said it proposes to make the tele-claims service available for income protection, waiver of premium and total and permanent disability claims in due course.
