Friends Provident launches online seminar to explain houseperson's cover
Mon, 12 Jul 2010
Friends Provident has introduced an online seminar to explain its housepersons cover product. The aim of the seminar is to simplify the product and describe the features and benefits it provides advisers and clients.

The seminar will demonstrate how advisers can help those clients who do not qualify for full income protection benefit receive up to £300 per week to help with household costs and/or childcare payments if they suffer an accident or illness. The seminar involves working through practical examples which show how the product works and emphasises the level of support that is available.

According to Friends Provident, with over two million housewives, an increasing number of househusbands and 2.5 million classed as having 'mini-jobs' where they are working less than 16 hours a week, it was evident that there was a larger opportunity than initially recognised. Ed Stuart-Brown, head of protection at Friends Provident, said: "Houseperson's cover is increasingly recognised as the forgotten market. With this new online seminar we hope to address this and promote to advisers what an opportunity this market could potentially be."
