Legal and General (L&G) has raised the immediate cover for customers taking out life only cover to £3m and also for those taking out term assurance with critical illness cover for business to £1.5m.
The firm has also extended its critical illness immediate cover to include those applications taken out for personal loan or mortgage protection and not just for business cover .
The life cover maximum sum assured has been increased to £3m from £2m and critical illness cover maximum sum assured for business cover has increased to £1.5m from £1m. Also, the critical illness cover maximum sum assured for personal loan or mortgage protection has been introduced at £1.5m.
Russ Whitworth, underwriting and claims director for protection, said: "Immediate cover helps people who need cover straight away, which means we assume risk for them while they are being fully underwritten. This tends to be for high net worth and business applications while we gather the necessary medical evidence."
