LifeSearch has named Bupa as providing the most expensive life insurance and critical illness cover .
According to the protection specialists, as life insurance continues to see a price war between providers, with a continued fall in premiums, consumers may be wasting thousands of pounds by not reviewing their policies.
LifeSearch said the most expensive life insurance product is offered by Bupa at £10.86 and the cheapest is offered by Aviva at £7.21, which offers a saving of £876 over the term of the policy. It claimed the most expensive critical illness cover is offered by Bupa at £33.35, while the cheapest is offered by Aegon at £28.61 offering a saving of £1,137.90.
Matt Morris, senior policy adviser at LifeSearch, said it is essential that cost is not the only consideration when looking for a financial protection product and customers should look for the policy that offers the best value for money . He said: "This means looking at the product which most suits individual circumstances and offers additional benefits. Importantly, if you are going to switch policies, do not cancel your existing policy until the new one is in place."
