Free health check with income protection sales from Bupa

New customers who purchase one of Bupa's income protection (IP) policies will get a complimentary Bupa core health assessment which is worth £149.

Introducing intermediaries will also be eligible for for the free health check . The assessments are available until October 17 and can be taken at any of the 40 Bupa centres around the UK. Bupa's core health assessment, launched earlier this month, includes tests which look at at body mass index, body fat ratio, blood pressure and cholesterol . In addition, it includes a fasting blood glucose test and risk assessments for coronary heart disease and diabetes .

Assessments will not be affected by the underwriting of the IP plan as the offer applies when the customer goes on risk. Steve Casey, Bupa individual protection head of sales and marketing, said: "At a time when planning for the future is front of mind and people are concerned that their future income will be protected in the event of an illness or accident, we are offering them the opportunity to have a better understanding of their health risks and to give them the tools to make positive lifestyle changes."
