Aviva life insurance finds number of female breadwinners on the rise
Mon, 12 Apr 2010
The number of domesticated husbands in the UK has increased tenfold from 60,000 to 600,000 over a period of ten years, according to research conducted by Aviva life insurance .

Louise Colley, head of protection marketing for Aviva, commented that last year's launch of the company's free life cover for new parents has revealed parental responsibilities to be split fairly evenly. She said "This shows how the lines of traditional roles and responsibilities are becoming blurred. It is no longer necessarily men who look after the money and women who look after the children."

Aviva provides £10,000 free life cover for new parents with a child under one year old, however they must apply before the baby reaches six months. The firm recently joined the Change4Life programme created by the NHS and conducted a study which showed that a high proportion of people did not know their vital health statistics, such as weight, cholesterol or blood pressure .
