Aegon launches protection video

Aegon UK has produced a video which highlights the risks that are associated with not having the correct business insurance in place.

The video is based on a real life situation and describes both the financial and personal suffering that is brought about when one of the two co-founders of a small printing business suddenly dies.

Stephen Crosbie, head of proposition, protection and investments for Aegon UK, said it was essential for advisers to help businesses understand the importance and benefits associated with having key person, shareholder and business loan protection set up. He said: "This video really drives home the message of what can happen, not just to businesses, but also family members if the appropriate cover is not in place and the unexpected happens to a key individual or shareholder within the business.

Peter Chadborn, principal at Colchester-based IFA CBK, commented that the video would work well in getting over the concept of business protection and the interwoven consequences of insufficient cover.
