Sesame is to provide training to unqualified IFA support staff with its member firms to sell general insurance (GI).
The IFA network says it can give non-regulated staff the knowledge, skills and permissions to offer advice to clients on buildings and contents insurance, as well as accident sickness and unemployment (ASU) cover. Sesame says the scheme, which is optional for members, will help adviser firms enhance their customer service, add revenue streams and drive up profits. The launch of the programme follows a pilot exercise that successfully trained 30 non-regulated staff earlier this year.
Roger Crocker, Sesame head of GI and development, said: "Providing IFA support staff with these important skills means they can deliver a valuable service to clients and generate additional revenue for the firm. Firms are increasingly recognising the importance of building renewal income and how this can help embed value in their business."
