Legal and General launches new protection sales tool

Legal and General has unveiled a new sales analysis tool that will identify which areas advisers need to focus on in order to increase their effectiveness in selling protection.

The system, called mortgage-related protection framework, is able to analyse an adviser's ability to sell protection alongside a mortgage . According to Karen Blatchford, commercial director for housing for Legal and General, the data can compare individual performance and pinpoint where training could be applied in the most cost-effective way.

Ms Blatchford said: "Our mortgage related protection tool helps identify those who need assistance, so we can improve individual performance and increase profitability for the firm. Training can be targeted and tailored to individual needs and help support long-term development plans."

Mortgage related protection is presently being used among advisers that are part of Legal and General's mortgage network, Partnership Services Ltd. It enables the Legal and General account managers to access detailed data on protection sales for each mortgage sale at account, regional and individual level.
