Return to work support on group Income Protection offered by Bupa
Thu, 10 Dec 2009
Bupa has announced that it is to provide early intervention and return-to-work support on all its group income protection (GIP) schemes with no increase in premiums.

Available in the New Year, the change comes following customer and intermediary feedback and will see dedicated claims assessors and nurses allocated to each case. According to Bupa, this will enable targeted return-to-work interventions and guidance according to individual needs.

Employees will no longer need to complete lengthy claims forms because a trained nurse will call, or visit, to get details and will provide full support from an early stage.

Bupa Health Assurance director Steve Payne says: "Our customers tell us that when an employee cannot work due to long-term sickness, they want appropriate and early intervention and return-to-work solutions. Having a nurse involved at the start means the employee has support from a dedicated team of medical professionals. It also helps reduce workplace absence and reduces claims costs and premiums."
