A new service has been launched by Which? to help people claim back missold payment protection insurance (PPI) premiums online.
The new PPI complaints tool gives consumers a simple way to put their claim forward with an online form, which requires details about the loan agreement number, the name of the provider, and the reason why the policy was missold. The information is used to create a letter which can either be emailed directly to the lender or printed off and sent.
Lucy Widenka, Which? personal finance campaigner, said complainers should not have any concerns about emailing complaints over a standard letter. She said: "Nowadays any email is considered in the same way and people should not be concerned about not being taken seriously. We have checked and where an email is not possible as banks have no email facility for complaints and you can still send the template letter by post."
