Customers taking out mortgage and lifestyle protection cover from LV= will now also benefit from an increased sense of security during the current economic downturn .
The insurance provider is planning to to extend its offer to remove the 60-day period during which a new customer would have to wait to make a claim for unemployment . This offer was initially introduced by the firm for three months at the beginning of the year and in order to try and give customers further support during the recession, LV= has undertaken to extend the offer until June.
Head of protection at LV= Chris McFarlane explained: "The realities of the current employment market and wider economic climate are such that it is vital for people working in all sectors to ensure they have the right protection in place."
Research conducted by the firm found that most Britons would be willing to pay more for their insurance if their provider guaranteed them a good claims service.
