Insurance provider Bright Grey is redirecting a team of underwriters to work alongside advisers on protection products. The Royal London Group protection arm has also announced that it is to increase its underwriting limits.
The business will create a team from its existing senior underwriters that will specialise in protection and it will be raising the maximum life cover amount to £5m from £2m. Also, the critical illness cover level will be raised from £500,000 to £1m.
In addition, customers will now have an extra 30 days, which will be 60 in total, to return their confirmation forms before their applications are cancelled.
Roger Edwards, product director for Bright Grey, said: "Now that interactive quote and apply is being used by an increasing number of advisers, the changes to the process for our confirmation form ensures that advisers and clients have enough time to check the information that they have submitted."
