Bright Grey, a protection specialist within the Royal London Group, is introducing a telephone interviewing process in an attempt to save processing time and reduce non-disclosure.
The service, which will be run in partnership with Medicals Direct Group, will enable the provider to get medical evidence directly from clients rather than put in requests for General Practitioner Reports (GPR). Where a particular condition currently requires a GPR, a nurse form Medicals Direct will now contact and interview the client over the phone . Information about any medical condition and any treatment they have had will be assembled at a convenient time for the client.
Bright Grey says that as the necessary medical information is taken immediately, it will allow decisions to be made more quickly. The firm also believes that clients feel more comfortable answering medical questions directly from a nursing professional and this enables
other questions to be asked at the same time.
