The insurer Norwich Union has joined forces with Barclays bank and will be offering a range of its new life insurance products to the bank’s mass market customers.
The new products, which are going to be marketed as ‘Simplified Life', were launched at the beginning of August and customer promotions will be starting in September. The bank will be offering both level and decreasing term insurance products as non-advised sales through the Barclays website . The website also provides a quote option and application facility.
Gary Duggan, managing director for consumer lending and insurance at Barclays, said: "The Norwich Union partnership enables us to expand our protection offering to include life insurance - a product which is essential to many customers."
Mr Duggan added that Barclays bank already have a strong relationship with Norwich Union in relation to their motor, travel and home insurance and that they were happy to be working with the insurer in the life insurance sector .
